2017 – Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions

2017 District Fall SeriesRegister your trailer and vessel with the Harbour Master when you drop your boat off at the club. If it is “after hours”, then leave the details in the mail box in front of the harbour office or send an e-mail.

Registered & participating vessels will receive in water mooring on E-dock
Note: Boats may launch early morning (before 8am) and haul in the evening provided they do not interfere with haul out operations. Vessels on trailers are to be moved and stored in the Learn to Sail area.

All visiting vessels must be removed from PCYC seven days after the last race. Any vessel remaining on PCYC property or brought on site and is not participating will be charged applicable storage fees.

  • $20 per day or $40 Fall Series Package
  • To register your boat, please email Race Committee & Fleet Captains with the Boat Name, Sail Number and Skipper Contact information. All boats must be registered and in the water by October 14th.

  • Each boat participating MUST complete PCYC Racing Waiver [will be emailed upon registering]


  • **Potential Clinic by Thomas Fogh on October 15th at 11:00am**
  • Sunday October 15, Sunday October 22, October 29
  • Sunday November 5, SATURDAY November 11
  • Three races scheduled each day, wind permitting.
  • First warning is at 12:30pm.


  • The series will be governed by the ‘rules’ as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS). RRS 26, 27, 29.1 and 33 are changed as follows:
  • Marks are Yellow/ Orange tetrahedrons. Legs are approx. 0.5–1.0 NM
  • The Start Line is between the two Start Marks, the R/C boat counts as an obstruction.
  • The weather mark may be placed after the start of the first race.
  • Start Sequence will be as defined in RRS 26 with an “I” Flag start as defined by RRS 30.1. Each Fleet may have their own start based on the number of boats.
  • Over Early – RRS 29.1 and/or Hail by R/C on VHF 71.
  • Buoys to Port, around the weather mark, thru the Start Line (gate), around the weather mark, thru the Finish Line (Buoys to Port), unless shortened by the R/C.
  • Change of Course: Watch for “C” flag on R/C boat and sound signals.


  • If there is damage, protests must be filed with the R/C within one half hour of R/C docking.
  • If there is no damage, R/C decision is final. This changes all of Part 5, except RRS: 69, 70, and 71.


  • Low Point Scoring System, Appendix A, as modified here:
  • Season Championship based on all races completed with one drop for every five races (no rounding).


  • Race: free beer. “However” R/C has discretion on awarding prizes.
