After much discussion with CORK/Kingston regarding the 2022 NAs and consultation with Chris Howell (Exec Dir, J/24 Class) and Will Welles (IJCA Chair), it was decided to relocate the event into the U.S. This obviously comes late in the game but it is hoped that the championship can be added to an existing event or will be canceled for this year. While there were several factors, the continuing uncertainty about crossing the border and resiliency of this virus it was felt that this could negatively impact attendance of our U.S. teams. To compound the issue, our Canadian contingent has been significantly and negatively impacted by COVID and we could not feasibly run the regatta based on Canadian entries.
There is a hope that the event can return to Canada in 2024.
